We will let you know when we discuss the terms of the repair, but yes, there are a few devices that we may not service: Some devices which may have unavailable replacement parts, devices that are contaminated with a bio-hazard (urine, excrement, or insects, etc), and known stolen goods.
Short answer: No. We will not need you to provide any AV or power cables with your console, we have our own. Same for controllers (unless the controller needs repairs as well).
There is one exception to this rule which is for 'exotic' consoles. Exceptionally rare or old consoles may need to have their cables provided along with the console.
You can ship your console in to us for repairs. We ask that you will cover the shipping to us, and we will cover the return shipping. From there on, we will communicate through email or text (whichever you prefer).
Most countries have a film preservation societies as well as arts and humanities preservation groups. Each believes that the media that humanity has created represent milestones of achievement and are snapshots of the world at that time seen through the lens of the culture that created it. Each piece of media is invaluable to our history as humans. Sadly, videogames and related interactive media are only recently being preserved in such a way. There is much work to be done so that this art is not lost.
The general rule of thumb is: If you own the game, you can own the Backup and use both how you wish. That said, many gaming corporations are very anti-consumer when it comes to this question and may try to limit your rights regarding Backups. Here, we believe in this rule. If you own it, you own it.
